'Give an Hour '
Over 50 people who care about our parish have signed up to help us make it an even nicer place to live and work in. They have pledged to 'Give an Hour' a month to help at working parties (weeding, bulb planting, hedge cutting etc), deadheading and watering or with social events and fund raising.
Projects have included planting 2,000 bulbs at Le Ch'min du Trésor, as well as general upkeep throughout the Walk and planting sessions in the rectory garden, Spring bulbs and plants have been added to the Community Garden to give year round interest. Volunteers assist at our annual fundraising Quiz Evening and 'Lighting Up our Christmas Tree'. They also help 'stuff' envelopes to send out Floral St Peters leaflets. During the summer all our floral displays are cared for by 'Give an Hour' volunteers and two of them have taken over the maintenance of the Community Garden.
Anyone who joins can do as much or as little as they like - there is no pressure to commit to more than they feel comfortable with. The most important thing is to enjoy helping to 'make a difference' in the parish.
