Finalist in 2010 RHS Britain in Bloom ‘Large Village’ category
FUNDRAISING
Each year we apply for a grant which is made available from the Floral Guernsey Council to communities who enhance the appearance of their community, through floral and/or environmental projects.
Whilst these funds represent a major contribution to our costs we do need to raise additional cash to meet our commitments, we do endeavour to raise money through our own fund raising initiatives.
2012 calendar
We have produced a calendar for 2012 called 'A Year in St Pierre du Bois'. Each month features a different photograph taken by members of our Group, all of which represent different aspects of our lovely parish. Available at £4 each.

We seek the support of the business community, from those commercial concerns actually based in the parish. Also from individuals who live here and whose business is located elsewhere in the island. We also hold our own fundraising initiatives.
Donations are always extremely welcome both in cash and kind.
Sponsorship
Ways in which to support our initiatives can range from £10 to £500 and can provide items such as plants for summer displays, new wooden containers for floral displays, bat boxes or bench seats. The following 'shopping list' gives some suggestions.
More significant projects are always in need of funding and we would be delighted to discuss specific ventures.

We are particularly grateful to two St Pierrais who made a donation to our funds in memory of Helen Lemmon who sadly died in 2008. Helen was a very popular and enthusiastic member of our Group and we feel sure she would be supporting our efforts for 'Britain in Bloom'.
Another way to help is by donating plants which may have outstayed their welcome in your own garden. We may well be able to find a home for them in the Rectory or Community Garden.
Our sincere thanks to Claire Le Pelley, Raymond and Sarah Evison, David and Jane Russell and Nick and Denise Ozanne who have done just that.
Another way in which a contribution can be made is to provide a bench seat for Le Ch'min de Trésor in memory of a loved one or in recognition of some special occasion.
Fund raising
Over the year we stage a variety of fundraising initiatives. In November 2008 and 2009 we held a 'Pure Guernsey' Quiz event where each year a capacity crowd of 120 people raised an incredible £1,000 and had a lot of fun at the same time!
In March 2009 Sarah and Raymond Evison very generously held a 'Daffodil Lunch' in aid of Floral St Peters. 37 guests enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by a fascinating guided talk and tour of the grounds at Le Frie. Over £600 was raised during the afternoon.
A 'Let It Beatles' concert on the rectory lawn in August raised over £600.
During the Floral St Peter's Day in April 2010 David and Jane Russell very kindly opened their Mille Fleurs garden raising almost £3,000 for our campaign.
Over 700 copies of our recipe book have been sold, raising £800.
