WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE
WOW - we did it! It's difficult to describe the sense of pride the Floral St Peter's Group members felt when the results were announced at the Britain in Bloom Awards presentation evening in September 2010. (Full details and the judges comments can be found in the November 2010 newsletter in the 'News' page.
The parish won Gold and the Community Competition in 1997, the first year that Floral Guernsey was eligible for Britain in Bloom. At that time it was felt that the parish was not ready to take part at national level. Our current Group was founded n 2003 and worked consistently to enhance the parish environment.
The Group was formed by Deputy Al Brouard and Paul Domaille, both Douzeniers, along with Jill Bray. In addition to Al and Paul (responsible for finances) and Jill, who has developed our website, our core team now consists of Nigel Baudains, who oversees our horticultural projects, Sue De Laune our floral coordinator, Marguerite Talmage, responsible for PR, Jenny Hamon, who provides much of our photography, the Reverend Maurice Strike, Fran Elliott and Mary Sebire.
Needless to say we are all actively involved in working parties, fundraising and helping to generate that all important community spirit.
However, we couldn't possibly carry out all that we do without the assistance of our growing band of 'Give an Hour' volunteers, supporters and sponsors to whom we are extremely grateful.
